Your new role The Head of Product role will oversee the design team and the future product team once the role grows. You will be responsible for developing the company's product strategy to continue building an innovative and market-leading software company and you will work in collaboration with the senior management and engineering team. You will be accountable for ensuring the solutions are valuable, viable and usable to their customer base, and are also feasible for their engineers, so they can implement it at a reasonable cost and have the skills to do so. But fear not - in order to deliver effective solutions, you will be supported by the CEO, who will offer training and support in the early stages, and will be on hand to help manage the more tricky stuff as and when it comes up. The key responsibilities are: * Prioritising feature development to meet the business' strategic targets * Defining the product roadmap and long term goals * Ensuring stakeholders are engaged in product development * Ensuring what gets built is both valuable and viable * Managing the process of product feature creation from inception, to product marketing * Stakeholder requirements capture * Analytics * Customer feedback * App store ratings and reviews * Liaising with Customer Service to direct training materials * Coordinating with Marketing on high quality product update communications to customers * The go-to person for non-technical queries about the product * Liaising with sales to direct sales collateral and explore product fit in new markets and for new customers * Champion the product's value internally in the business * Monitoring competitor activity and external risks to the product What you'll need to succeed * Experience in leading the product development of a digital product * Knowledge of how to define the product roadmap. * Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills. * Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery, including Agile methodologies. It would also be a bonus if you had... * Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business - engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing. * Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative. * Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
