Corporate Communication and Engagement Lead
Corporate Communication and Engagement Lead to start ASAP for 9 months -Central London £220-£250 per day including holiday pay. The Corporate Communications and Engagement Lead will be a subject matter expert in the development of a wide range of corporate communication and engagement programmes, campaigns, and platforms, ensuring all work is in line with strategic direction and corporate image. This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent campaign, project management and staff management skills as well as collaborative working with all areas of the organisation and a wide range of stakeholders key to shaping and managing an ambitious and complex planned programme of activity over the coming years. Main Duties and Responsibilities * Reporting to the leadership team on corporate communication and organisational programmes of work, identifying any resource issues and ensuring contingency measures are put in place. * Reporting accurate monthly statistics on communication and engagement activity against the business plan, as well as any other programme metrics. * Management of the communication team, overseeing the day to day activity of staff, ensuring adherence to our Values & Behaviour Framework * Ensuring corporate business plan and related activity are on task and up to date. * Supporting the individual in achieving their work objectives and appraisal and training requirements. * Working with departments to proactively establish, develop and maintain effective communication and stakeholder relationships within the NHS and wider health group e.g. Department of Health, NHS organisations, professional representative and regulatory bodies, trade unions, other Government Departments, and organisations in the sector. * Proactively seeking opportunities to expand and improve the organisations communication and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that all stakeholder engagement is undertaken in a manner that always presents the organisation in the highest professional manner. * Overseeing the presenting, receiving, interpreting and disseminating a range of potentially complex, contentious or sensitive information in accordance with the organisation's communications strategy. * Reporting regularly on internal and external communications that have taken place and future initiatives. * Ensuring effective communications on a corporate level and making sure these are delivered by the appropriate senior officer in a professional manner. * Final sign off of all corporate communications content. * Ensuring that the corporate style is maintained and updated and that all information is accurate and correct for message * Overseeing a wide range of corporate projects, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately, and regular progress reports The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the below: - * Educated to a master's level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in corporate communications and engagement. * Member of relevant professional body e.g CIPR, PRCA, CIM. * Significant experience of development, implementation, and evaluating effective communications and engagement plans for a range of campaigns/projects with tangible examples of successful delivery. * Experience of managing complex media enquiries and stakeholder issues in a dedicated communications role. * Experience of developing and delivering successful internal communications strategies. * Extensive staff management experience and knowledge of management and leadership practices. * Experience of developing effective stakeholder engagement strategies, including conference and event management. * Experienced strategic thinker. Capable of future proofing, horizon scanning and forward planning at a corporate level. * Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information; negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups. * Evidence of using a wide range of communications and engagement tools and channels with the ability to identify the right channel for the audience. * In depth knowledge of digital communication tactics and strategies. * Excellent analytical skills to ensure the key issues are identified and appropriate actions taken to provide the correct communications and engagement advice and support * Can demonstrate highly developed staff management and leadership skills including the ability to motivate and delegate effectively. * Highly developed interpersonal skills in order to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels both internally and externally. * Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation. * Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others. Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals. * An ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team effectively, presenting the very highest leadership qualities and exemplary management behavioural characteristics. * Considerable personal initiative and can demonstrate an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy. * A calm, flexible and cool-headed approach.
