Programme Manager (Communications and Engagement)
Your new company The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is the independent regulator of the UK's nurses, midwives and nursing associates. We set the qualifications nurses, midwives and nursing associates must achieve to practise, ask them to demonstrate learning throughout their career, and, on the rare occasions care goes wrong, we can step in and take action. Your new role As programme manager (communications and engagement), you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and evaluation of the communications and engagement directorate's annual programme of activity. You will be responsible for embedding a programme management approach to communications and engagement planning; ensuring the directorate's output is joined up, sustained, proactive, and driven by audience insight. You will provide regular updates on the success of the programme, including reporting and providing advice on risks and budgets. You will act as the internal escalation point for communications and engagement colleagues concerning operational risk and will be responsible for advising the leadership team, including potential remedial actions. You will lead the directorate's governance output including Council and Executive Board reporting, working with the corporate governance, and planning and risk teams respectively What you'll need to succeed * Exceptional knowledge of programme and project management methods, including managing successful programmes * Experience working within an in-house communications team * Good understanding of integrated communications campaigns to different audiences * Understand the value of Strategic Communications and able to coordinate different communications projects from end to end * You must be well versed in project reporting on both a quantitative and qualitative basis * You will have strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to push back. You will be setting up programme processes so its key to enforce this * Experience in complex organisations with council's or boards would be a plus * Wealth of experience in delivering strategic programmes through full life cycle, including evaluation and assessment of impact * Budget management and business planning experience * Experience of managing risks and issues in programme/project setting * A qualification in project/programme management is not essential but is highly desirable E.G Prince2, MSP, Agile What you'll get in return At NMC people are at the heart of everything we do.
