An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an NHS CCG based in East Surrey/Sussex as a Communications Manager on an initial three month contract.

Description

Supporting key stakeholders such as the CCG's governing bodies, clinical leads, local/county councils and NHS England, the Communications Manager will ensure patients, local residents and other key stakeholders are actively communicated to on how we are developing, and shaping our ambitious plans to improve patient care and outcomes. Key responsibilities include: * Act as the lead for specific areas of work, managing all aspects of communications. * Act as a guardian for the CCG's corporate identity ensuring information for patients and the public is compliant with national healthcare standards and guidelines. * Use specialist communications knowledge and training along with experience to develop, implement, manage and evaluate CCG wide and project-specific, tailored communications strategies and activities (external and internal) and campaigns to support service delivery. * Plan, deliver and manage regular internal, member and stakeholder communications, including managing existing mechanisms and responding to and identifying new opportunities for improvement. Advise on the most appropriate methods and timescales for doing this. * Manage the content of CCG public facing website and staff/ member intranet. Ensure all content is up to date, respond to requests to update information in a timely manner and support the further development of the sites, particularly ensuring the CCG is responding to evolving technology. * Using Plain English, research, write, edit and produce high quality corporate information tailored to the specific needs of different groups of people. This includes; complex consultation documents, annual reports, service guides, sensitive briefings for staff, MP briefings, corporate magazines and newsletters, online information, patient leaflets and media releases/statements.

Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced all round communications professional. Experience of both internal and external communications is essential, across a number of channels including newsletters, publications and press releases. Whilst NHS experience is highly desirable, experience of working in the wider public sector is essential with the ability to demonstrate previous experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Job Offer

Between £20.37 - £25.45 PAYE + holiday pay or up to £32.85 through an umbrella company. Starting asap! This is a three day per week role.
