Our commercial workplace Design and Build client offer a bespoke and dedicated design led turn-key service. They pride themselves on repeatedly delivering aesthetically beautiful, on budget and quality interior design solutions for a range of clients.

Due to further project wins and planned expansion of it's design team, we are now looking to speak with Architectural Technicians with experience of producing full technical drawing packs for commercial workplace interior design projects. This will require you to be an expert user of AutoCAD.

You will work within a motivated in-house Design team to resolve technical details, and deliver information for construction by on-site delivery teams.

In this position you will be expected to develop and review space plans that are compliant with Building Regulations, coordinate with the existing building fabric. This input will often be critical to the creation of project winning proposals in a competitive pitch process. From this, you will be able to develop the design proposal into a Construction package with appropriate technical schedules and specifications to assist in the Project delivery. Finally, you will have involvement in the on-site build process and attend regular client meetings to ensure the best quality design delivery in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

What this job involves :

* Work closely with the design team to get a good understanding of the concept.
* Provide presentable material including space plans, and other technical detail to fully explain proposals.
* Ensure all design proposals comply with statutory regulations in terms Health & Safety and Building Control.
* Support design consultation requirements with Landlords, Building Control, Listed Building Consents and other statutory requirements.
* Assist in the technical advice in terms of the 'optimum' use of space, best value for money.
* Prepare / coordinate all necessary design specifications and working drawings.
* Work with Design team and Sub-contractor teams to achieve the integration and coordination of 'specialist' design areas including mechanical (a/c & plumbing), electrical, data communications and acoustics.
* To participate in Project Completion meetings to ensure any design related issues and snagging has been identified and plans are in place to rectify prior to handover to the Client.
* Identify innovative design solutions that are 'leading edge' and provide a competitive advantage.
* Experience in Surveying and knowledgeable of and capable of external drawings; drainage, roofing details etc.
* Proficient in coordination design information from the various subcontractors.
* Degree in Interior Architecture/ Technical Design/ Architectural Technology or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
* AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Extensive previous experience of operating in a similar role and environment (workplace, design and build preferable).
* Tenant Fit out experience.
* Project planning & excellent time management skills.
* Customer Focus.

* Knowledge in Photoshop and 3D sketch up would be preferable.
