Outstanding Head of Marketing opportunity working with a dynamic, ambitious and well-backed food business.

Client Details

Committed to producing high quality food products, our client is a rarity - a multi-billion pound business that's family owned. Offering outstanding products across chilled and ambient categories, they've got a healthy mix of own-label and branded goods. With an international presence, the scale of the organisation in the UK isn't quite proportionate as yet so there's certainly scope for growth - and they're not being shy in their ambitions to do so. NPD is at the core of this not just news sku's but new categories as well. They've fostered a culture that relies on capable, entrepreneurial individuals being empowered to make good decisions quickly. There's a collaborative culture with clear, uncomplicated processes and communication to get great outcomes. The UK business has enjoyed some phenomenal success, doubling in size since 2015 by expanding their brands into premium chilled desserts and luxury yogurts. The ambition to continue the trajectory is huge.


The Head of Marketing will lead a direct team of 4 and is task with developing the branded agenda in particular. You'll be expected to: * Develop and execute the long term strategic brand plan, with a strong focus on the innovation pipeline. * Own key innovation projects, working with both UK and global teams to source high quality products consumers will love and ensuring excellent delivery and execution across the trade * Develop compelling stories for growing the brand in existing and new categories * Develop consumer communication plans to deliver both marketing and business objectives, exploring new and different ways to connect with the target consumer * Play a key role in bringing the brands to life at customer meetings.


The Head of Marketing will be an FMCG marketer with significant strategic experience (ideally within food but open to other FMCG categories). Whilst being adept in the use of data to make decisions, you'll have developed an instinct for products, where they sit on a shelf and how communicate with consumers. As the UK business is an SME, creativity and the ability to act decisively and quickly whilst taking people with you. It's important that you can demonstrate experience within a similar environment or, at least can show an aptitude to adapt. This would suit a Marketing Manager looking for a step up in scope of responsibility or an existing Head of Marketing in an SME FMCG business.
