* To develop a strategic communications strategy * To ensure appropriate research and evaluation is undertaken to ensure communications activity is effective and responsive to audience needs * To direct the delivery of as strategic internal communications programme to help deliver change management and other major internal issues * To direct the delivery of proactive external campaigns and public relations activity * To deliver a digital engagement strategy which delivers film, photography and animation and other styles of communication * To direct the delivery of a robust media relations service which helps build a strong and positive relationship with journalists and the public * To direct reputation management communications strategies * To develop a consistent approach towards horizon scanning to better inform and shape communications activity and to achieve organisational priorities


* Significant experience of leading changes in a service delivery environment with responsibility for driving the delivery of a complex service * Significant experience of developing and implementing successful communication strategies in a high profile complex organisation demonstrating use of a range of tools and techniques * A proven track record of managing and minimising issues relating to reputation risk and brand management involving sharing information with the public, media and a range of other external stakeholders * Significant experience of innovation to deliver successful media campaigns both internal and external to the organisation
