The Fix creative is currently hiring for a lovely local client in Windsor whoare currently looking for a Senior Account Manager to join a growing team that work in healthcare communications.

As a Senior Account Manager (SAM) your primary role is to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of assigned accounts in order and to deliver innovative and effective ideas. You will focus on the accurate and timely delivery of creative work, ensuring commercial success for both client and agency.

A Senior Account Manager has primary responsibility for the management of his or her accounts. He or she inputs into the strategic development of those accounts under the direction of a more senior member of the team.

The Senior Account Manager's responsibilities are outlined in the key areas below:

Business Development
  • Work closely with senior members of the Client Services team during pitch work
  • Play a key role presenting at pitch presentations
  • Work with other members of the agency to prepare responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals from clients
  • Ensure that clients are aware of all the services the agency offers
  • Spot opportunities for new business and share them with your manage
Client Relationships
  • Build and maintain good client relationships
  • Establish a clear role within the team as the main point of agency contact during tactical material development once creative and messaging direction is finalised
  • Participate actively in client calls and run and control client meetings e.g. take a central role in discussions on specific materials you are responsible for
  • Meet regularly with clients' team to plan and progress account activity
  • Analyse clients' marketing plans and advise accordingly
  • Have a strong sense of awareness of the 'temperature' of your own accounts and respond accordingly by referring and sharing any issues with your manager
  • Gather, share and act upon feedback from the client on campaign work to build satisfaction, recognition of agency value and feed credentials/effectiveness award entries
  • Utilise your experience to respond to situations and where possible limit the involvement of more senior members of the Client Services team
Strategy
  • Plan and conduct desk and field market research
  • Develop an understanding of marketing strategies and tactics that will be appropriate and effective for your clients
  • Develop an understanding of why creative work has been developed and its relevance to a client's strategy
  • Get involved in brand/study planning workshops
Creative
  • Develop ideas briefs, feeding in research / account / marketing knowledge
  • Brief creative teams in a simple, concise, yet inspiring manner, ensuring, at all times, that they are fully aware of the client's requirements
  • Critique creative work and provide evidence based opinions
  • Gather, share and act upon client feedback throughout the development of creative work
  • Present and sell tactical creative ideas and work to clients on accounts that you are managing on a day-to-day basis
  • Challenge client thinking when appropriate in line with campaign objectives and core creative idea/critique work in a constructive manner in line with the brief
Delivery
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills to effectively manage work requirements
  • Prepare weekly Work in Progress project list for Production
  • Take responsibility within the team for accurately completing Studio WIPs and supplying them to the Studio Manager on time
  • Take client briefs for assigned projects and draft marketing communications proposals for approval by a senior member of the Client Services team
  • Take ownership of all accounts within your portfolio, referring upwards when necessary / appropriate
  • Brief appropriate agency personnel on assigned projects
  • Ensure that Contact Reports are produced in a timely and efficient manner
  • Manage and update project tracking tools (e.g. progress reports, translation and print trackers etc.) on a daily basis
  • Review production timetables from the production and delivery teams, monitor progress of projects against timetables and effect timely delivery
  • Take responsibility for job bag management by following internal processes, liaising with Traffic / Digital Studio Manager, marking up job bags with clear instructions, version control and ensuring that all work is signed off by the appropriate stakeholders
  • Ensure all work is proof read
  • Create and maintain resource/reference files to assist agency team on assigned projects in conjunction with Account Executives / Managers
  • Take client feedback throughout the development process and act as an intermediary between client and agency throughout the sign-off process
  • Ensure that both internal and external stakeholders involved in projects are informed of all developments, including time, budget and delivery issues, at every stage of the sign-off process
  • Identify opportunities to improve agency process and optimise profitability
  • Resolve any project delivery concerns, referring upwards to a senior team member if necessary
Finance

Take a key role within the team for profitability on your assigned accounts Collate costing information and prepare estimates for client approval Negotiate out of scope cost issues with clients for individual jobs, gain client agreement and raise paperwork Ensure client PO is raised following acceptance of the agency's estimate Ensure projects are invoiced as soon as possible

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Senior Account Manager is expected to have the following skills and knowledge:
  • A good understanding of the role of advertising and marketing
  • A good understanding of clients' businesses, therapy areas, brands, clinical development process and target audiences
  • A thorough knowledge of client approval systems and processes e.g. ZINC and legal, regulatory and compliance reviews
  • A good commercial understanding of how to run profitable accounts
  • A good knowledge of the internal workings of the agency and the processes of implementation
  • Good experience of the various media channels available to formulate the marcoms mix, including but not limited to press advertising, direct marketing, radio, TV, social and programmatic
  • A thorough knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice, PAGB Medicines Advertising Codes, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, the EU Clinical Trials Directive, FDA GCP/Clinical Trial Guidance Documents, and other relevant advertising Codes and Standards and experience of challenging them to the advantage of clients
  • A good knowledge of international healthcare systems
  • A knowledge of all Company policies and procedures relating to the role and the ability to communicate and implement these appropriately
