The role: - * To support the Web and Digital Content Manager in maintaining and developing the University's website the University's primary external marketing, recruitment and communications channel. * To undertake specific short and longer-term web and digital projects which support the development of the University website and the marketing and communications strategy as determined by the Web and Digital Content Manager and Web and Digital Manager. * To help develop new and engaging content for the website in a variety of media and ensure that existing content and features are maintained and kept up to date. * To create, edit and update content on the University's website and associated microsites, in a manner appropriate for the web, and in a clear, accessible writing style, targeted at the University's audiences. The main Duties: - * Write, edit and publish information on the University website and associated microsites in a clear and accessible manner, targeted at the University's audiences. * Create and maintain web pages and site sections in line with the University's marketing and communications objectives determined by colleagues in Marketing and Communications and managed overall by the Web and Digital Content Manager and Web and Digital Manager. * Proactively improve content on the University website by helping to coordinate the gathering and publishing of new content with colleagues in Marketing and Communications and other staff across the University. * Regularly audit sections of the University website and associated microsites in order to ensure appropriateness, relevance, accuracy and timeliness of the content. * Support the Web and Digital Manager and Web and Digital Content Manager in delivering large and small-scale web projects for the University. * When required, work with Marketing colleagues to assist in compiling marketing and information emails as part of the University's email marketing campaigns to prospective students and other audiences. * Help implement the University's web and digital policy and web and digital governance framework and enforce web and digital standards in order to minimise the risks of loss of credibility, loss of market share, resource waste and risk of litigation. * Produce ad-hoc web traffic reports from Google Analytics and enquiry data reports from the enquiry management system. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the below: - * Experience of writing, editing and proof reading engaging copy for the web and other digital media in a marketing, recruitment or PR context. * Extensive experience in using content management systems for the web, web authoring software and knowledge of HTML. * Good understanding and knowledge of the use of the web and other digital channels as a marketing, recruitment and communications tool * Good knowledge of content management systems for the web and web authoring software. * Awareness of web standards, usability and accessibility. * Knowledge of Higher Education. * Able to communicate confidently and diplomatically with staff at different levels in the organisation and form successful and productive working relationships. * Able to work effectively in a team. * Excellent verbal and writing, editing and proof reading skills together with an excellent understanding of organising information for web publishing. * Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. * Strong interest in promoting the aims of Higher Education If this role is of interest, please do apply ASAP with an up to date word version of your CV highlighting all your relevant experience.
