Learner & Discovery Services (LDS) is an award-winning unit of The Open University responsible for the production and delivery of the University's curriculum; it also has a central role in the design of learning materials. 

We are looking for an experienced Illustrator to join our media production department. Working as part of a team in close collaboration with academics, clients and other media specialists, you will take a creative lead in developing distance-learning materials for online and print.

You will be experienced at interpreting and conveying data in visually informative ways with exceptional creative flair and high-level drawing skills. You will have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and, in particular, be a super-user of Illustrator and Photoshop. Good presentation and communication skills are essential as you will be working with clients to develop briefs and elicit their requirements.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience, you will be fully confident in digital production processes, and have evidence of taking a creative lead in projects. Experience in animation, After Effects would be a distinct advantage.
