The Communications & Engagement Officer supports the marketing and communications team, focusing on external communications and reporting results to the organisastion's members.

Description

You will be responsible for supporting and improving current reporting processes, liaising with our workstreams, suppliers (where appropriate) and the Technology team to ensure members get the information they need. In addition you will support the external communication of our membership activities and our results.

You will lead in the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of communications projects, including events, campaigns, consultations on high profile issues. You will commission, write, edit, proof read, coordinate complex internal, external publications, leaflets and advice documents; write press releases, articles. You will lead in anticipating, responding to media enquiries, briefing journalists. You will provide reputation management advice and media advice/training to senior managers, decision making bodies.

This role is a combination of developing business reporting, customer engagement processes and communicating the results we achieve for the NHS. A background in communications and knowledge of effective communications channels is desirable, as is experience of a customer-facing or membership organisation role. A good working knowledge of Excel is essential. Knowledge of online portals and content management systems is desirable.

Develop media releases, publications, presentations; maintain press cuttings, photo library and online media database.

Take the lead on handling media enquiries and issues when the Marketing and Communications Manager is unavailable; to include advising senior management on appropriate responses.
