A passion for developing shopper & customer marketing initiatives is key for this exciting opportunity with a very dynamic, fast-growing brand that is bringing innovation, new ideas and creativity to a huge and highly competitive FMCG category.  In this key role, reporting directly into the Marketing Director and with an exec reporting to you, you will be responsible for creating, executing and evaluating audacious and engaging customer marketing ideas & activity that drive business performance and customer engagement for this lovely brand.  Your work will focus largely on the UK multiples, but will also include some European and international markets.

The number one priority here is managing the customer marketing JBP's for your customers from start to finish, including ideation and sell-in - making your ideas come to life and evaluating the impact.  You will work with large and smaller retailers, developing and implementing both physical POS and digital assets that drive shopper conversion at the point of purchase.

Key responsibilities include

  • Creating an innovative shopper marketing strategy for the brand, developing exciting, innovative customer activation plans that help deliver ambitious revenue targets.
  • Understanding the impact of the retail environment, shelf layout, promotion etc on the shopper's behaviour, making recommendations on how this can be used.
  • Working closely with senior marketing and design colleague to define the look and feel of the brand at the point of purchase, maximising its impact and performance in-store.
  • Identifying and presenting bespoke retailer opportunities to help drive shopper conversion, grow brand sales and improve their category performance.
  • Managing the end to end activation process from creating briefs for the in-house design team to delivering all projects in store on time and on budget.
  • Setting KPIs for campaigns and evaluating their effectiveness against these targets.
  • Leading and coaching one direct report.

Skills check list for this role

  • Proven record of driving FMCG sales using activation ideas across different retail environments, in particular the grocery multiples.
  • Adept at using insight and market data to analyse the impact of activation plans.
  • Experience managing agencies and projects to land on time and within budget.
  • Strong influencing skills able to inspire stakeholders to want to implement your activation plans.  
  • The ability to think strategically, taking complex issues and addressing them step by step, taking a more lateral approach where needed.
  • A curious mind, eager to find out more about the customer and the business that will help to unlock improved performance.
  • Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel.
