Senior Account Executive
Our client based in Hook in Hampshire is looking to add a Senior Account Executive to their successful team. You will take full responsibility for driving the media success of your team's campaigns through traditional and emerging PR techniques. Your efforts will focus on business, national and broadcast media with which you will have existing contacts and work to expand your sphere of influence. Working with the account manager, you will clearly understand your clients' business, product and service offerings and be able to implement agreed media strategies, as well as to identify proactive opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Oversees all media relations activity on behalf of the team's clients, maintaining key media contacts for all campaigns and projects.
Builds, maintains and develops productive relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers and analysts across broadcast, national, trade and vertical media channels.
Utilises networks to create and maximise client coverage.
Has full understanding of how the media works and the differences between trade, broadcast, national, international and social media.
Is confident in making verbal approaches and pitches - as well as written/email - to journalists, freelancers, analysts and influencers of all levels.
Confidently facilitates national, broadcast and top tier vertical media telephone and in-person media interviews and briefings with all clients.
Runs forward feature programmes for all clients, identifies opportunities, liaises with client on suitable approaches and secures results.
Is proactive in all media areas for clients, constantly looking for opportunities where additional media coverage could be achieved, above and beyond the initial brief.
Executes a range of tactics including article placement, media briefings, round-tables, exhibition support or product demonstrations.
Devises and manages effective industry analyst campaigns.
Understands and follows the news agenda with the intention of positioning clients and their products/services within the wider news narrative.
Possesses sound understanding of current affairs relevant to the industry and the wider news agenda.
Deploys rapid response to breaking news on behalf of clients, reacting quickly to emerging stories in line with client profiles. Content Creation & Social Media
Able to take briefs and develop unique, accurate content, as required.
Develops relevant and compelling media pitches for own sell-in to all levels and types of media and influencer
Effectively proof reads a full range of materials
Full understanding of monthly reporting process with ability to contribute and manage, as required
Uses social media platforms to expand own network, develop media relationships and positively impact client results
Uses social media and proactively explores new tools, solutions and processes to continuously evolve and optimise client PR campaigns
Provides social media insight as well as execution and management of related digital activity Client Engagement & Management
Generates accurate and informative top-tier media briefing documents and materials and confidently shares with relevant client contacts of all levels
Manages all client communication pertaining to media opportunities and the relevant news agenda
Contributes to client meeting preparation and follow-up and learns the skills required to lead and manage meetings with smaller clients within the team Team Working & General Skills
Acts a strong line manager, mentor and motivator to account executive within the team offering coaching, supervision and assessment alongside the account manager
Proactively reports back to account manager & director against set media objectives on weekly basis
Provides thoughtful, creative and relevant media initiatives and ideas to new business pitches and client campaign renewals
