Position: Senior Architectural Team Leader

Location: London 

Salary: 35-50k

Reporting to the Director of Architecture, the candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the client as well as the internal account team.

This is a technically focussed role suitable for highly motivated and professional individual; who will be a well-organised, confident communicator who has the interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and to lead a team. 

Relevant UK approval process experience, Landlords approvals, planning and adverts, Building control, Listed building, Scottish Building Warrants.

General understanding of the building control process and regulations and the impact on retail layouts. Technical knowledge/ building regulations knowledge is key.

On site experience meeting with contractors to discuss construction details / solutions.

Good communications skills and negotiation / influencing skills.

Confident working within a team of 6 technicians, also confident in working alone if required.

An understanding of retail design.

Understanding of commerciality.

Provide evidence of good examples of technical detailing

Ability to work on number of projects that run at the same time.

Contributing to the detailed design process and co-coordinating detailed design information.

Preparing drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals

Liaison between members of design & construction teams.

Coordinating drawings with design team.

Attention to detail.

Organized, disciplined, efficient, accurate.

Ability to take responsibility, meet project deadlines.

Working on and managing own projects for retail fit outs both mall and freestanding locations. (all projects are in Revit)

Management of team workload and quality control. Daily monitoring of a workload schedule and ensuring the team is aware of upcoming deadlines.

Aspirations to move into senior management (Team Leader) in 12 to 18 months.

Reviewing construction on site as part of personal development and progression.

Actively manage accuracy of information delivered and review alternative ways to work smarter.

Supporting other team members in their development by coaching and mentoring.

Future development of less experienced members of the team via monthly 1-2-1 meetings to review performance and review set objectives and goals

Supporting less experienced team members by sharing knowledge and experience on UK processes and construction detailing.
