Client Details

An public sector client who is looking to improve communications and drive efficiency.


As a Communication Officer you will be involved in a broad range of communication activities and stakeholder management. You will also need to be able to update web content and understand social media. It is essential that you have good copy-writing skills

* Involved in all areas of communications, web content writing and producing copy.
* You will have a good understanding of social media and be able to upload content to the web
* Supporting the external relations team in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of engagement and external communications activities.

* Responding enquiries, press releases and the media

* Acting as a brand guardian to maintain and build the organisations reputation

* Producing copy for a range of communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, leaflets and the web

* Writing, editing and proof reading a wide range of publications, leaflets and advice documents; writing news releases and articles; organising design and print.

* Managing the social media accounts and carrying out website updates

* Assisting with marketing projects and campaigns, preparing newsletters, posters and presentations

* Acting as the main point of contact for trainee PR/media queries

* Designing marketing materials (InDesign) as well as filming and editing video (Premier Pro)

* Taking responsibility for ensuring that information stored on databases is up-to-date, accurate and of a high standard

* Supporting event management


The ideal candidate would have previously worked as a PR or Communications Officer and be immediately available

* Educated to degree level (Communication, Marketing or PR related or able to demonstrate equivalent work experience)

* A track record of working with a communication, web content or PR role ideally within the healthcare, NHS or Public Sector

* Digital media skills, including an ability to use a content management system and manage social media content.

* A background in managing multiple campaigns and being able to work as an individual and prioritise own workload with minimal supervision
* Able to generate marketing campaigns and be IT literate with good experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Job Offer

Circa £20,000- c£27,000 TBC depending on experience

This is a contract potential to become permanent.
