Media & Communications Officer role for a leading charity based in Bristol


Client Details

Our client are a charity supporting the education sector.


Description

The key responsibilities for the Media & Communications Officer include:

* Research, write and edit high quality content for the media and communication channels
* Develop strong relationships with journalists
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
* Manage agreed partnerships with media and other external bodies
* Analyse data relating to communication channels
* Work with colleagues across the business to create and upload material to the news
and blog section of the website
* Work with team members to maintain media distribution lists, and to circulate, track and evaluate media
releases and other content through the media monitoring site
* Advise on and propose changes to procedures, plans and priorities to improve operational efficiency and
quality of service in own work area


Profile

The Successful Media & Communications Officer:

* Strong experience in a similar communications role or relevant journalist role
* Experience of working with a variety of publications and outlets
* Examples of developing successful PR plans and securing media coverage
* Excellent writing skills, with the ability to tailor content to relevant audiences
* Excellent verbal communication and influencing skills
* Ability to translate complex or technical information into language accessible to the media
* Ability to work well as part of a small busy team


Job Offer

Day rate Circa £200 per day
