  We're looking for an experienced Senior Brand Manager with FMCG or Consumer Goods experience to step into this exciting maternity cover role for a period of 9-12 months   The role

This is a key role in the Consumer Brand team with responsibility for managing and leading a brand portfolio. You will set strategic direction, support the team across different projects and work with cross functional teams to deliver the annual plan.

Priority Objectives:

  • Delivery of the annual business plan
  • Development and delivery of annual brand plan alongside the Senior Marketing Manager
  • Prioritise and drive key initiatives to ensure brilliant execution across the business
  • Clearly brief the comms and activation team to enable a compelling communication plan to be executed across physical and digital worlds as one customer journey
  • Work in partnership with Customer Marketing and commercial teams to deliver against targets
  • Lead, motivate and coach direct reports to create a highly effective culture


  • Day to day portfolio management to ensure delivery of 2018 targets
  • P&L and A&P management for relevant areas of the portfolio
  • Portfolio strategy and prioritization
  • Short term delivery for 2019
  • Act as marketing contact for key customer initiatives
  • Project management of key projects
  • Team leadership and ad hoc support for the brand team

Education & Experience

  • Educated to BA/BSc degree level or equivalent
  • BM/SBM level marketing experience in high performing businesses (FMCG, Retail or DIY)
  • Cross functional/market experience (Customer Marketing, Sales, Innovation, Insight, Global)

Marketing Competencies:

  • Brand planning and marketing programme execution
  • P&L Management
  • Proven ability to influence across the marketing function and wider organisation
  • Experience in development and implementation of brand/communications plan
  • Champion of consumer/customer insight as the foundation to marketing activities

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven project management and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate creativity and effectiveness in development and execution of marketing programmes
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time and project schedule management skills required to consistently meet deadlines
