Your new company

An exciting position has opened for a 3-month contract with the largest Welsh Government Sponsored Body - who employ 1,900 staff across Wales with a budget of £180 million. They were established in April 2013, largely taking over the functions of the Countryside Council for Wales, Forestry Commission Wales and the Environment Agency in Wales, as well as certain Welsh Government functions.

Your new role

Your role will report to the Customer Programme Manager. You will support the effective operation of the integrated delivery model and mentor less experienced team members to continuously drive quality and creativity standards in the team. As a senior specialist communications officer, you will use your professional knowledge and experience of a broad range of communications skills to play a leading role in delivering effective integrated communications for the Customer Programme. You will shape and execute high quality, creative content as well as working at a senior level to facilitate essential communications services such as media relations, government business, digital and social media, internal communications, video production, branding and design, content creation, campaigns and communications evaluation. It Is your job to develop and lead on implementing integrated communications campaigns that support delivery of the organisation's priorities and Communications Strategy.

With a proactive focus on solutions, you will play a central role in providing communications business partner support to Directorates, developing all activity in line with the Communications Strategy. You will be confident about using insight information to make informed communications decisions and provide advice.

What you'll need to succeed


* Experience at senior level as you will be responsible for managing and delivering a number of the projects - as well as developing strategy etc.
* Project management / reporting and governance responsibility
* Have excellent customer service skills (good with people) and enthusiastic!
* You will have substantial experience working in a professional communications environment in a number of organisations, or in different roles in one organisation.
* Through this you will have a high level of skill and experience in all communications disciplines and you will have experience of strategic communications planning to drive and support business outcomes.
* You will preferably be a CIPR member and be committed to your own CPD, ensuring that you keep up to speed with developments in the communications industry so that you can bring new skills and knowledge into the organisation and apply best practice principles.
* Preferably Welsh speaking

What you'll get in return

The salary for the position is £32,411pr. The position is initially to start in January-March for the first instance with the potentially of extending the contract.
