Senior Press Officer job in Chester | Full Time/Permanent | £35,000 - £38,000 | Not-for-profit organisation

Your new company
You will be working in a permanent position for a large scale, not-for-profit, organisation in the South Chester region. This organisation is recruiting for a Senior Press Officer to join their fast-paced and exciting team within their head office.

Your new role
Within your new role, you will be required to provide leadership, guidance, management, development and support to the press team and others within the communications department who will be keen to draw on
your skill and experience. You must support the communications team to drive innovative and creative communications across a broad media platform. Liaise with regional directors in identifying, establishing and maintaining strategic contacts in the national, specialist and regional media. You must ensure the press team, and others who need such input, remain up to date on changes in media law and other legislation that affects the organisations media function. Writing media releases, statements, articles and briefing documents, and be part of 24/7 rota for press office.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must be creative, decisive and self-motivated, you will have the professional skills necessary to lead a busy press office that sits at the heart of a rapidly-evolving communications team and is shifting its focus towards digital media. You will be good at spotting the news in day-to-day business while also firefighting the unexpected. You will contribute to the associations team working environment, taking ownership of issues and supporting colleagues where appropriate, and be flexible and willing to undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
