IVCC is a Product Development Partnership (PDP) of industry, academia and other public health stakeholders that facilitates the development, delivery and impact of novel and improved vector control tools and solutions in challenged markets to combat the rapidly growing problem of insecticide resistance. Vector control, through LLINs and the use of IRS has been instrumental in cutting global malaria mortality rates by half since 2000.

The performance of older insecticides repurposed from agriculture is compromised by insecticide resistance, and the impact is reaching a tipping point. Lack of market incentive for independent commercial development, coupled with the risks associated with public health product development, means that the role of the wider public health community in sustaining the development process is essential. Although primarily focused on malaria eradication, IVCC is also working on vector control solutions for neglected tropical diseases such as Zika and dengue.

IVCC is supported by funding partners, including The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID, USAID, The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation(SDC), UNITAID and the Australian Government.

A creative and digitally skilled Communications Officer with strong organisational skills is being sought to work on a wide range of communication strategies and projects to help build profile, recognition and awareness of IVCC's strategic goals and mission. Reporting to the Head of Communications but working as part of a wider matrixed team, this newly created post will assume responsibility for developing and delivering innovative and integrated communications strategies internally and across key stakeholder groups, with particular focus on the New Nets Project and ZERO by 40.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrable track record of achievement of working proactively in the Communications Department of a commercially focussed organisation. We need someone who has experience of working on a day to day basis with a roster of external agencies and suppliers (PR, print, design etc)ensuring deliverables are of a high quality, on budget and on time. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills including experience in copy writing, editing and proof reading with attention to detail are crucial for this post.

Absolutely essential for this post is someone who can demonstrate advanced skills in relevant design and creative software (particularly PowerPoint, Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop and SharePoint, as well being highly versed and up to speed with website content management systems (particularly 'Wordpress') and the design and delivery of social media campaigns.
