Media Officer - Barking, £30000 - £38000 - Nationally known East London Charity

Your new company
This nationally recognised charity transforms the lives of the most vulnerable children across the UK through their services, campaigning and research expertise, bringing out the best in every child whether the issue is child poverty, sexual exploitation, disability or domestic violence.

Your new role
You will work as part of the national media team, promoting the charity's work, policy campaigns, fundraising and corporate/retail activity. You will develop and implement innovative and creative media plans to maximise positive media coverage of the core areas of the charity's work in order to reach their identified target audiences. Reporting to the National Media Team Manager you will also work with the Digital Communications team to ensure press releases and social media engagement reflects their activities on the website.

What you'll need to succeed
Experience of working in a fast paced media environment/newsroom or press office is desirable.You will have excellent oral and written communications skills and be able to demonstrate proven success in a range of relevant media. You will be creative and innovative and organised in you approach to all aspects of your role.
You must also be able to travel across the UK and potentially stay away from home occasionally. Ideally you will be immediately available for a handover period. Some experience of crisis/reputation management is essential as part of this role.
