This is an excellent 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a communications specialist to join a global law firm as their Communications Manager.

The role holder will work closely with the global Communications and Business Development teams, the wider firm and various PR agencies the firm works with across UK, US and EMEA and will be responsible for devising and implementing the PR and communications strategies for key UK practice areas including Finance, Real Estate, Competition and Employment. The Communications Manager will manage communications and identify, develop and maintain relationships with the media in UK and other relevant global markets, positioning and pitching lawyers as thought leaders in their areas of focus. You will offer support to lawyers in writing and pitching external thought leadership in key legal, business, and trade publications, organising media training as necessary, and will write, edit and distribute press releases to announce practice area news to the press. The successful applicant will also be tasked with analysing results of the firm's public and media relations efforts and overseeing the maintenance and use of media monitoring and contact platforms.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant area, such as marketing or communications, and proven relevant experience in a large dynamic firm or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in a partnership within a professional services firm is strongly preferable. The Communications Manager will be self-motivated, goal orientated, creative and independent and possess exceptional judgment, discretion, responsiveness and initiative combined with outstanding communication skills and the ability to interface with clients, the media and all levels of personnel within the firm and to communicate complex legal ideas to a wider audience.
