A Direct Marketing Executive role with a strong focus on digital fundraising and integrating such activities with other more traditional DM channels in terms of content and imagery.

Client Details

The charity is a major international humanitarian agency delivering emergency relief and long-term international development projects.



-Project management to deliver online and offline direct marketing campaigns as requested by the Head of Direct Marketing, including preparing and agreeing campaign strategies and briefs to meet objectives within the annual operating plan.

-Write and review copy for online and offline engagement and conversion communications;

Ensure that services are procured and paid for in line with organisational policies and procedures, while keeping value for money and ROI at the forefront;

Contribute to the annual and quarterly budgeting and reforecasting process by liaising with relevant external suppliers;

Working with all FPC teams, prioritise new and existing creatives and emergency appeals (as and when instructed);

Produce regular campaign reports and feedback to contribute proactively to the DM team's policies, procedures and regular team meetings;

Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the charity's digital fundraising programme

Keep abreast of fundraising trends, issues and initiatives in the charity sector and generally by following relevant media, attending seminars and conferences, and liaising with colleagues in other INGOs as necessary;

Support the Supporter Development Manager in the management of all key relationships required to deliver the DM team's fundraising programme, particularly with external suppliers, in order to achieve value for money, high quality and agreed levels of service delivery;

Working closely with other departments - such as Communications, Programmes, Advocacy - create compelling call-to-actions that engage and convert supporters;

Access and analyse the charity's website performance (especially appeal pages and donation forms) through Google Analytics in order to identify areas for improvement in conversions, content and design;


* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships

* Good numeracy and data analysis skills

* Strong creative instinct, both in leading the development of campaigns and in critiquing work

Adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

* Good knowledge of using social media to target, communicate and engage with supporters

* Experience of a range of DM channels

* Experience of copy writing

* Experience in researching content for marketing materials

* Experience of writing creative briefs

* Experience of working with agencies, collaborating with them to ensure best results. This should include managing creative, print and media agencies

* Knowledge of direct marketing principles and current direct response marketing best practice

Ability to demonstrate initiative, creativity, identify opportunities and to research and evaluate their viability in order to achieve desired outcomes
