This role embraces brand development and at the same time operational implementation in the local market. As Head of Marketing you will be responsible for all UK Marketing for the entire beauty and personal care brand portfolio.

A leading, innovative FMCG business with offices globally


Reporting to the VP Sales & Marketing UK you will be given full responsibility for all aspects of brand marketing this will include the following:

Brand Development (Strategy/Vision)

* Development and implementation of brand strategies to achieve total company sales and profit expectations (as defined by annual Budgets and 3yr plan)
* Management of brands to maximise profitability, taking steps as required to address any slippage in KPIs versus budget

NPD projects and development: (shared accountability's with Senior Development Mgr)

* Create, evaluate and implement NPD projects that are in line with agreed marketing plan, and can achieve profitable and productive brand growth
* Identify NPD opportunities and propose to management team with financials
* Develop prioritisation of projects according to commercial and/or strategic needs
* Create, protect and enhance consistent brand equity

Brand Management / Operational Marketing

* Create, develop and implement the whole marketing mix including above and below the line communication
* Very close co-operation with Trade Marketing/POS-Team as a key enabler for the cosmetics category

Budget Management

* Shared P&L responsibility and accurate A&P Budget management

Technical Management

* While overall responsibility is within Global R&D, driving all technical and legal aspects for our brands (existing and NPDs) together with Global R&D, ensuring compliance with any relevant legal authority directives as appropriate.

People Management / Leadership

* Leading marketing team in UK
* Create and develop a multidisciplinary team to drive excellence in NPD, in-store and online marketing programs
* Mentor, coach and manage team members.
* Devise and implement internal communications activity to engage and inform all internal stakeholders


The successful candidate will bring the following skills and attributes:

* A proven track record of brand/product management and strategy creation/implementation within the FMCG industry

* Strong networking and interpersonal skills to harness both internal (sales, R&D, development, innovation, engineering, supply chain, etc) and external parties (Media digital agencies, KOL's, social media)
* To be insatiably curious, seeking out and evolving global trends
* Knowledgeable of all available social media tools to ensure the brand promotes and endears itself to its target audience
* Comfortable with technology understanding both digital media and the digital economy
* Able to assimilate new market opportunities at speed
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills
* Strong project management skills and priority setting
* Creative and challenging strategic thinker
* Exceptional communicator, able to negotiate win/win solutions
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
* Proven strong entrepreneurial approach to business
* Strong team leadership skills
* NPD process from concept through to launch (ideally within cosmetics)Analytical Techniques and Project Management
* Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point (or equivalent packages)
* Graduate calibre
