One of the most renowned bespoke furniture brands are seeking a SENIOR DESIGNER to join their team in Cambridgeshire.

Some of their portfolio includes bespoke designs for home and office furniture, accessories, and their approach is commercially oriented. Their design team is seeking an individual with a trained eye for design, paired with a genuine passion to deliver excellence and create products that are aesthetically pleasant, functional and built to last.

You must be able to demonstrate the following within your portfolio/CV:

  • Bachelor or Post Graduate Degree in product or furniture design
  • More than 7 years of experience in full time design employment
  • Creativity, Integrity, high work enthusiasm, strong learning ability, careful
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external
  • Open to travel
  • Should have a sociable character
  • High standard at Solid Works, Illustrator
  • Good knowledge of materials including Timber glass and steel

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Concept design of furniture products
  • 3D rendering of concepts (Solid Works)
  • Produces technical drawings and product specifications to be digitally transmitted
  • Carries our market research to ensure we are constantly on top of trend prediction
  • Creates style groups for seasonal design briefs
  • Manages freelance designers
  • Responsible for managing and training one junior designer
  • Manages development timescales in line with business requirements
  • Travels for sample development in China and Vietnam
  • Travel to furniture shows
  • Input into technical documents such as assembly guides and product risk assessments
  • Guides and leads creation of freelance assistance such as CGI creation
  • Oversight of show booth creation. / booth concept design
  • Oversight of brochure creation
  • Oversight of updates to product listings on website
  • Regular Development meetings with China team
  • Work closely with other departments including sales and production for a "joined up" approach to
  • product creation
  • Identify and recommend manufacturing efficiency improvement opportunities for cost savings
  • Some travel will be required for shows exhibiting to clients and for inspiration trips
