My client is a leading digital business in the Leeds area and, as a result of continued growth and investment, we’re looking for a Product Owner to join their established team.

The ideal candidate

You’ll have worked in a Product Owner role within an Agile environment previously, and you must be comfortable working autonomously, as you’ll be given scope to use your initiative from early in the role. You’ll work with a range of stakeholders of all levels, so it’s imperative that you have excellent communication skills, and your role is all about leading systems change and making sure that customer needs are kept in mind at all times, whilst enhancing the overall operation of the team. Your organisation and stakeholder management skills must be second to none, to ensure that deadlines are met and projects are delivered.

Your role

Due to the nature of the role, it’s hard to describe a typical day in this role, as you’ll have the opportunity to work on some genuinely varied projects, but key aspects will include:-

-          Streamlining and prioritising project work
-          Managing any product backlogs through identification and prioritisation of activities
-          Understanding and the reasons behind changes and their overall impacts on the customer
-          Attending and contributing to spring planning meetings
-          Ensuring that all interested parties know what the intended outcome of releases are so that their focus is in the right way and they are working efficiently
-          Participating in daily scrums, sprint planning and sprint review meetings
-          Reviewing work to either accept or reject, ensuring that the project stays on track
-          Acting as the “voice of the team” and gaining buy in to projects
-          Setting KPIs to focus on delivery
-          Sharing best practice with colleagues
-          Product prototying
-          Tracking and reporting on results and justifying spend

This role is reasonably senior within the organisation, so it’s key that you are able to bring a good level of experience to the position, and you will bring an ability to manage changing workloads in a fast paced environment.
