My client, a large organisation based in Widnes is looking for a Communications Marketing Officer to join their expanding marketing team. Applicants must have the full marketing mix and strong copy writing skills, whilst working in a commercial business.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting local and national profile raising through effective media relations. Building relationships with journalists and key influencers
Writing creative and compelling content for a range of external communications channels, both print and digital
Creating a range of multi-media content for various external channels including photography, video, infographics etc.
Supporting with the delivery of content marketing campaigns, and the implementation of these through social media and press.
Supporting with the delivery of our digital plan to ensure that we have an active, targeted and high-quality online presence including email marketing campaigns, SEO and PPC campaigns. Working closely with our retained digital agency
Responsible for day to day implementation of the corporate social media strategy
Maintenance of company website
Planning and execution of external events, both locally and nationally, including event organisation, advertisement, photography, video. Supporting new business development activities.
Identifying speaking opportunities and supporting with the development of proposals to conference organisers
Supporting leaders with pitches, presentations and materials for conferences, trade shows and events
Identifying relevant local and national awards events, engaging with colleagues and people we support to find their award-worthy successes and developing compelling submissions
Supporting the External Communications Manager in using data to report on and measure the success of initiatives, campaigns and projects
Acting as brand ambassador, ensuring that all output is consistently on-brand and that all activity reflects our brand promise
Liaising closely with external suppliers (e.g. video production agency, designers, printers) including creating accurate briefs and ensuring all work is delivered on budget and within agreed timescales
Collaborate closely with Internal Communications and Business Development teams to ensure stories and content are shared in the most effective and timely way across all platforms
Keeping abreast of emerging Marketing & Communications trends, innovations and technologies

Skills Required:
Professional or higher qualification in communications, marketing or journalism
Must have the full marketing mix
Experience in a marketing communications role, ideally within a large organisation (public sector/charity) or PR-based agency
Journalism experience would be desirable
Experience of press relations
Previous experience of writing press releases is key, possess strong copy writing skills
Experience in using social media tools is desirable
Ability to juggle multiple projects whilst ensuring quality remains high
Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
Ability to tell a story in the most engaging way
Excellent MS office skills
Ability to analyse data and confident in producing dashboard metrics
Understanding of social media and digital channels
Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and video-production software- desirable

Hours - 37.5hrs, 9-5pm
