About the role

The Marketing Director will provide strategic direction and leadership to the marketing function.

The incumbent will lead the team that currently comprises of 4 Product Managers and 2 Marcom Managers supported by one marketing specialist & one digital marketing specialist located in UK and Germany.

The incumbent and his/her team are accountable for developing and implementing strategies and tactics that support, drive and accomplish the business targets and objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

This position will be charged with leading a strategic and operational development of the business and the development of a strong Value proposition.

Your Responsibilities

Organisational Design

* Undertake a full review of the current organisational structure & capability with a view to creating a marketing team capable of moving the business from traditional home heating controls to a digital marketing organisation.

Market Analysis and Strategy

* Undertake periodic analysis of markets, channels, customers, competition, emerging technologies and other environment factors to define a go to market strategy appropriate for existing and new products in terms of customer segments, geographies and channels.

* Support geographical expansion through the front offices in countries outside UK & Germany

* Work closely with the sales to align these strategies and ensure their timely implementation

* Leading Marcoms activities, undertake brand recognition studies and customer satisfaction / loyalty research as appropriate to understand the leading indicators for long term success of strategies

Product Management

* Develop and maintain a clear 3 year product strategy by product family that enables true differentiation and meets both customer & market requirements. This includes cradle to grave life cycle management, portfolio management, strategic pricing and product profitability management.

* Translate the product strategy into clear product roadmaps that are aligned with Sales and Engineering for market requirements and technology/cost feasibility that are prioritised and resource balanced to maximize ROI.

* Ensure the delivery of New Product Introduction projects in accordance with the organisation Phase Gate Development Process through (amongst other things) providing clearly defined market requirements, target customer segmentation, VOC research, iterative designs, reviewing and approving product specification documents, preparing product support materials (packaging, literature etc) and defining market launch plans. Following launch report the planned, forecast and actual NPI revenue and VCM as required

* Regularly review product profitability and lead other functions to implement pricing and costing actions as appropriate.

* Manage the portfolio to ensure efficient ramp down of end of life SKUs.


Your profile

* You will be a results-driven marketing executive who is excited by the opportunity to make a significant impact in business creation (marketing/digital) with a strong installed base and global brand.

* You will have strong networking skills with a collaborative style able to tie together business unit objectives with corporate initiatives and functions.

* You will be an effective communicator and consensus builder across key C-Level contacts, Customers / partners network, focused on results, and willing to take calculated risks to exceed business goals.

* You will have hands-on experience

* You will have a track record of driving digital change in a large organization and comfortable with a data driven approach

* You will have a Business Mgmt degree followed by 8-10 years of experience of working in a consumer marketing role or company.

Salary: £80,000 - £120,000

Bonus: 20%
