Our client based in Dorking is a marketing agency with a fresher outlook. They help young brands grow big and strong and established brands stay fit and healthy. Our client offers down-to-earth advice to clients and agencies alike - and creative work that's good for their business. They specialise in what most people call promotional marketing. To them it means getting close to consumers and understanding them. After all, if you know what makes people tick you have more chance of connecting - and ultimately, selling to them.
This particular role however will mostly centre on the management of one of our clients key clients to which we provide a broader integrated marketing service.
As an Account Manager you will be involved in devising, developing and implementing ideas for marketing campaigns. You will be involved in all stages of the process, making sure the campaigns proceed according to plan and run smoothly. You will keep everybody involved in the campaign informed and up to date and provide central support to an account director and MD.
On a daily basis you will be in contact by phone and email with client representatives at various levels of seniority as well as external suppliers.
As part of the services provided to this key account your responsibilities will include:
Media selection and planning
Media buying including negotiating prices
Briefing creative and trafficking artwork to ensure it is supplied on time
Writing and proofing copy
Setting-up and managing leaflet door drops
Devising and organising reader offers
Researching ideas, suppliers, markets and new media
Evaluating campaigns and producing client reports
You will report to the Directors. You will attend client meetings during which you will report on past and present campaigns, contribute with ideas ahead of future campaigns and follow up with a contact report where relevant.
A typical day will also include office administration tasks such as answering the phone, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, office stationery and filing. As a small team these are tasks that everyone gets involved in.
Our client is looking for an individual with the relevant Marketing training and experience but also someone with first class client handling skills and a high level of attention to detail.
The successful candidate will have a friendly telephone manner, be able to listen and think on their feet when speaking to a client, and have a problem-solving approach and a positive attitude.
Our client consists of a compact team therefore we are looking for an individual who is happy to work in such an environment, get on with their job without requiring micro-management but conversely not afraid to ask questions.
Our client also offers print management as a service and as such this role requires a good understanding of print processes including CMYK/finishes/stock selection and pricing.
The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and will be using Word and Excel on a daily basis. PowerPoint is also used regularly for the preparation of campaign evaluations and client proposals.
