Your new role

This new role plays a pivotal role in maintaining Aston's strong reputation for developing highly-skilled, sought-after, employable graduates. You will be responsible for successfully implementing, maintaining and adding vision to the Careers+Placements Student Engagement Plan promoting the benefits of career planning,
employ-ability skills and placements to Aston students.


* Implement and monitor a multi-channel Student Engagement Plan for Careers+Placements to meet the key deliverables of the wider team objectives.
* Instigate and oversee a variety of marketing campaigns throughout the academic year with the intention of increasing awareness and engagement with Careers+Placements.
* Monitor and measure campaigns through comprehensive campaign reporting.
* Act as line manager to a small team, providing day to day developmental support.
* Oversee the departments events planning, promotion and delivery and the digital marketing strategy including website and social media developments.
* Work with other members of the Careers+Placements team, Aston's support services and academic staff to deliver cross functional projects.
* Create a wide range of marketing materials; sourcing, writing and editing content and communications aimed at different audiences across all channels.
* Manage the department's relationship with external agencies, including, print, design and system providers.
* Undertake any other duties as and when required at the request of the Director of Employability Heads of Department.

What you'll need to succeed

* Professional marketing or communications experience.
* Previous line management experience of a small team.
* Experience of devising multi-channel marketing plans and campaigns.
* An understanding of content management systems to build web pages which meet usability and accessibility best practice standards.
* Experience in managing social media and online brand activities.
* Experience of report writing, producing professional documentation, and familiarity with a variety of visual representations of data.
* Experience of delivering services for diverse stakeholders. Experience working within a corporate visual and written identity.
* Experience of working to targets or KPIs.
