Head of Bid Management - Professional Services

£65k - £75k per annum depending on experience


A leading property management firm in the City is currently seeking a Head of Bid Management to grow the firm's bid-win rate and attract higher value strategic work. This will be achieved through the leadership of a team who specialises in project-managing major bid opportunities, improving the skills of key people who are regularly involved in bidding and ensuring the company bids process and best practices is applied across the firm.

The Head of Bid Management is a custodian for bidding across the business and key performance indicators for this role will be based around the form's win rate and feedback from major bid processes. You will play a central role in executing bids with internal client satisfaction, engagement and breadth of engagement across all divisions, regions and sectors.

Key responsibilities:

* Strategic development of the department, bidding throughout the business and the firm's strategic approach to winning business.
* Managing information and reporting around bid win/loss ratios the board and key management team members.
* Appropriate use of resources within the bid team to provide optimal support for the business.
* Raising awareness across the business about the firm's Bids Management Process through the delivery of presentations and workshops.
* Project management of major bid opportunities, including bid kick-off meetings and project management to client and internal debriefs.
* Coordinating 3rd parties and internal resources to ensure production of winning bids, proposals and presentations.
* Managing communications plans in the lead up to and during the tender process to ensure best opportunity for winning.
* Ensuring that bid feedback is collated and that bid debriefs and action points are followed up timely fashion.
* Ensuring best practice is understood and adopted across the firm.
* Working with HR to implement skills development programmes at all levels of the company around bidding and presentation skills.
* Creating self-service guides and guides to bid management.
* Ensuring relevant departments provide up to date bid material via company intranet.
* Creating and maintaining bid collateral via the intranet.
* Line management of Bid Managers.
* Overseeing regional marketing team in the implementation of local bid management support.
* Monitoring team performance, identifying staff training needs, and ensuring appropriate coaching/training is given to support effective sales and account management.

Required skills and experience:

* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* 6-7 years' experience in bids management.
* Demonstrable project management, people management and organisational skills.
* Proven coaching skills in presentation and bid best practice.
* Advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* High level of written and oral communication skills.
* Experience in managing stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.
* A keen interest in commercial property would be a significant advantage.
* Proven experience in professional services is preferred.
* Experienced in design packages such as Adobe InDesign, Creative Suite and MS Project or Vision is advantageous.
* Experience of e-tendering portals.
