The Press Officer will be responsible for managing the organisation's strategic relationships and communications, and engaging with the media to effectively position the organisation on a national stage.

This financial governmental organisation is a national body set up to assist UK businesses and customers.


* Writing creative and compelling news stories and turning complex information into attention-grabbing headlines
* Proactively raising the organisation's profile whether by traditional media, online media or over the phone
* Handling reactive enquiries in a busy environment such as answering individual questions from stakeholders
* Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including government, financial businesses, media and colleagues
* Researching and monitoring emerging issues and industry, political and media agendas related to the organisation's industry
* Understanding internal and external stakeholder needs and wider environment/trends including having discussions - looking out for potential risks and managing these
* Provide support to the organisation's managers and senior stakeholders to help deliver on the wider objectives



* Knowledge of the financial sector or money issues
* Ability to gain insights and use these to accomplish strategic objectives
* Ability to engage with a variety of audiences and influencing and persuading across a range of stakeholders
* Experience communicating complex information in a clear, engaging and accurate manner
* Exceptional organisational and planning skills
* Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
* Experience working within a busy and changing environment and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Creative and proactive approach

Job Offer

* Salary of between £32,000 and £35,000 commensurate with experience
