Description

As the Head of Bids you will:

Main areas of responsibility

Strategic development of our approach to bidding

* Strategic development of the department; bidding throughout the business; and our approach to winning business
* Management of information and reporting around bid win loss ratio/feedback for the Executive Board and key members of the management team
* Appropriate use of resources within the Bid Team to provide optimal support for the business
* Raise awareness across the business about Bids Management Process through the delivery of presentations and workshops

Bid management

* Project management of major bid opportunities, from leading bid kick-off meetings and project management through to client and internal debriefs
* Co-ordination of 3rd parties and internal resources to ensure production of winning bids, proposals and presentations
* Management of communications plans in the lead up to and during the tender process to ensure best opportunity for winning
* Ensure that bid feedback is collected and that bid debriefs are conducted in a timely fashion and that all actions/learning points are dealt with quickly

Best Practice and Training

* Ensure best practice is understood and adopted across the firm
* Work with HR to implement appropriate skills development programmes at all levels in the company around bidding and presentation skills
* Create self service guides (PQQ production, guides to bid management) for areas that we are unable to directly support
* Ensure relevant departments provide up-to-date bid material via the Intranet (policy and procedures, Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Frequently Asked Question, insurances certificates)
* Create and maintain bid collateral via the Intranet (including templates, CVs, and case studies)

Team management

* Line management of team who will support you in your role
* Oversee regional marketing team in their implementation of local bid management support
* Monitor team performance, identify staff development needs and ensure that team members are provided with appropriate coaching/training to support effective marketing, sales and account management


Profile

The successful candidate will have:

Qualifications/Experience

Required

* Educated to degree level
* 6-7 years experience of bids management
* Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
* Demonstrable project management, people management and organisational skills
* Demonstrable coaching skills in presentation and bid best practice
* High level of written and oral communication skills
* Experience in managing stakeholders across different levels of seniority

Desirable

* A keen interest or knowledge of commercial property
* Experience of working in a professional services environment
* Experienced in the use of design packages such as Adobe InDesign/Creative Suite and packages such as Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio
* Experience of e-tendering portals e.g. Bravosolutions, OGC, Bluelight


Job Offer

Competitive salary circa £65-£75k depending on experience plus excellent benefits on offer to the successful Head of Bids in London.
