A Studio/Operations Manager is needed for a leading design agency, specialising in branding and interiors
After a period of sustained growth, the agency is looking to define their value and behaviours - and need a studio manager to help them deliver on this new thinking. They want to invest in their people and feel that it's time to turn their attention internally.
The perfect candidate will come from a creative agency background, it may suit someone who has come from a client services position but ultimately it is an operations role. This person is going to be the studio glue. (There is a studio assistant to manage the day to day studio needs, answer phones etc).
A high degree of emotional intelligence is needed, a mature listener and a great observer of people. You'll be making sure that people deliver from all sides of the business, for example, that reviews are done on time, plans clearly communicated and changes instigated if needed. You'll be able to understand decisions from a management perspective but you'll be able to understand the view of even the most junior in the business. The management want to find someone who places a high value on appreciation and teamwork and will help them grow and retain their staff.
You'll be running the business side of the agency, helping (and cajoling) the board on new business approaches, making sure that business wins will benefit the agency both financially and strategically. You'll be looking at time allocations, financial forecasts and resource management.
There is an opportunity for this position to be part time, potentially 3-4 days per week, so it would suit someone who needs more flexibility in their working life.
