This is an opportunity for a versatile Marketing Director to join a well established e-commerce business in an exciting time of growth and development. This role would suit a natural leader, experienced in consumer marketing from an e-commerce background in online retail; to come in at board level and lead an intensive growth plan across UK and international markets.

Privately owned, this business has enjoyed continued expansion and growth for over 10 years, and has established itself as a leading provider in its field.

This is a newly created role that's been designed to enhance the existing ecommerce and marketing functions, with a mandate to be the strategic thought leader who can drive increased revenue across the online and offline channels. As Marketing Director you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a global marketing and e-commerce growth strategy. Leading from the front, it will be your responsibility to lead, coach and develop a small team and bring best in class strategic marketing thinking to the table.

Priorities:

* Deliver revenue and margin targets (UK and International).
* Define the acquisition, retention and conversion strategies for the site and execute the subsequent plans through the team.
* In conjunction with the relevant stakeholders create and implement a marketing and e-commerce strategy that is aligned to business goals and objectives, taking into account individual customer and brand requirements where appropriate.
* Ensure that the strategy is translated into tangible actions and is communicated in such a way that ensures colleagues understand how it fits with overall business objectives.
* Use relevant market, competitor and customer intelligence to ensure that the strategy is evidence based, relevant, compelling and competitive.

Requirements:

* Consumer marketer, proven experience leading the marketing agenda within e-comm channel business
* Will have some good technical understanding of online marketing
* A do-er / hands on and equally comfortable being strategic as well as operational
* Experience in marketing communications to include social media as well as the core area of e-commerce
* Previous experience of managing and leading teams, capable of motivating and galvanising direct and indirect stake holders - ability to set the agenda and take others with you
* Interpersonal skills that will enable them to navigate and build relationships at all levels across the business
* Bring new ideas and ways of doing things - bringing new expertise in marketing and e commerce that doesn't already exist in the business
* A driver, "make it happen" mind-set
* Commercially astute, keeps an eye on the numbers and return on investment
* Ideally some international exposure
