To deliver a programme of regular communications targeted at specialist and geographically-focussed press.

To produce and maintain a six month rolling programme for news releases and to produce and implement PR project plans

To maintain up to date contact lists of key media including a target list of relevant specialist and trade titles in the UK and overseas

To determine the most influential overseas titles and develop a PR strategy to target them including building and maintaining a network of international journalists -Form and maintain regular contact with employees writing of position statements To ensure all expenditure is kept within the agreed budget To produce and manage position statements on key controversial issues

To contribute to and produce regular media


* Working with the Media Manager and the Senior Press Officer for Science and Conservation, develop a PR strategy for targeting specialist media including targeted scientific publications and journals, trade and business media, overseas media and bloggers.

* To generate coverage for their areas of focus, including conservation and science, education, veterinary, fundraising, marketing and commercial. To look at developing channels for content not being distributed through mass market media channels s part of annual planning process agree list of targeted media with key stakeholders across the Society.
