An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Communications and Policy Officer to join a Local Authority in SE London.

Your new role

In your new role you will be planning, promoting and co-ordinating events and campaigns. You will provide training and advice to all teams on communication best practice for all printed materials. A large part of the role will involve writing and issuing press releases, you will also advise and support officers writing press releases. You will monitor, respond and update social media channels and manage the intranet to ensure staff are kept up to date and that all home page communications are accurate and timely.

What you'll need to succeed

The experience you will need to succeed in the role primarily involved planning, promoting and implementing campaigns, projects or events. You will need to have excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills, with an ability to run training sessions. You will also need to be able to deal with media enquiries and press releases.
