This leading international legal firm is looking for a BD Manager (EPI) for a fixed term 6 month contract. This is a key role in supporting the Employment, Pensions & Incentives practice and involves a large amount of liaison with fellow business development colleagues, business services professionals and fee earners within the firm's growing international network.

You will be integral in relationship building; developing strong relationships with the fee earners and across BD. The BD Manager (EPI) willl be responsible for sector strategy and planning; preparation of group business and marketing plans, planning, research and coordination of cross-practice working groups, market segmentation and client targeting, tailored presentations, documents and capability statements, implementing client specific relationship plans and delivering ROI and presenting results. You will work on pitches, proposals and tender submissions, liaising with partners and BD colleagues on drafting practice and firm-wide pitches, project managing all aspects of tender responses and pitches, working with fee earners to develop strong key selling messages, assisting with the rehearsals of pitch teams, partner coaching and managing communications including the debrief process internally and externally. You will conduct client feedback, keep abreast of client issues to enable pro-active identification of business opportunities, prepare materials, project manage and participate in client events and develop the BD skills of the practice lawyers and undertake research to identify targets for the practice groups with responsibility for targeting initiatives. You will also co-ordinate cross-selling opportunities with other practices, sectors and client teams and project manage the development of marketing collateral, legal directories and award submissions for the practice groups.

You will have a strong understanding and awareness of contentious and non-contentious EPI work and topical legal and commercial issues and a high level of responsiveness to day-to-day demands from key internal stakeholders. You will be timely and effective and able to successfully develop and implement an EPI business development plan. You will have have the ability to operate at both ends of the strategic and operational spectrum and have experience of working in a partnership environment with 5 years' marketing and BD experience. Any experience of working within Disputes and or Employment, Pensions & Incentive practices would be desirable. You will have excellent writing skills and proficiency with systems and will be intelligent, commercially minded and confident with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
