Job Title: Marketing and Communications Manager (Popular and Contemporary Music)

Location: Gateshead

Salary: up to £31,000 per annum

Position: Permanent, Full time

The organisation is one of the UKs biggest and best music and music learning venues, and this is an exciting opportunity to join their Marketing and Communications team.

The Marketing and Communications Manager (Popular and Contemporary Programme) will play a key role in delivering the organisation's popular and contemporary music marketing campaigns, communicating their diverse performance programme to a wide range of audiences. You will be an expert when it comes to understanding their patrons through in-depth knowledge of various audience segments, ideally demonstrated by a track record in delivering popular and contemporary music marketing communications programmes. You will also have an understanding of the tactics used to grow audiences, thus supporting audience development.

Working with the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager (Popular and Contemporary Programme) is responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating marketing campaigns to support the achievement of annual audience numbers, and will be required to work collaboratively with the organisation's popular and contemporary programming team to achieve goals and targets. The post holder will also need to work closely with marketing communications team colleagues to develop the company brand, ensuring that the on-site communication and promotional collateral supports a positive and engaging experience. The post holder will also be tasked with developing streamlined and imaginative means of generating secondary spend opportunities (catering and retail).

Key Requirements:

Educated to degree level with substantial post qualification experience in marketing communications (ideally with a background popular music), you will have an extensive experience of marketing and communications in a visitor attraction, tourism, leisure or arts sector context. Extensive business to consumer (B2C) marketing experience across a full range of channels is required. You will be an experienced line manager and will have extensive budgetary management skills. Influencing and collaborating will be second nature to you, and you will have extensive experience working with external partners and third party suppliers. Experience of managing media, PR and creative agencies is essential.
