Exceptional interim opportunity for smart, commercially savvy FMCG marketer looking for an exciting and interesting challenge.  This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running with a remit to own and shape the UK category vision for a portfolio of must-stock grocery brands - setting the vision and ambition for growth within the category by defining the market opportunity and setting out a roadmap to create and capture value in existing and new sectors/channels.  

Our client is one of the UK's biggest names in FMCG with a portfolio of leading brands.  It offers exceptional career development opportunities working in a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial culture.  The company is based north of London with options to work 3 days/week from the office and 2 from London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a clear brand vision, framework and roadmap and deliver against it, to drive category excellence and consistency
  • Own the strategy for the brand acting as the guardian of brand presence and identity, helping to set guidelines and frameworks within which local business unit activity will be governed. Help to create and embed processes for brand strategy, brand planning and consumer and shopper segmentation in brand insights
  • Support development and roll out for all brand innovation
  • Driving growth in the brand P&L through identifying synergies and improving range profitability
  • Leading and developing a talented team of 3 Brand Managers

Skills & Experience Checklist

  • Demonstrable track record of success within commercial, matrix organisation environments
  • Extensive experience gained within a branded environment, preferably FMCG, working on a significant brand/ market leader
  • Proven experience in leading strategic brand and business planning with sound evidence of consumer & shopper insight-led strategy implementation
  • Consistent track record of creating great ideas that have driven real value in the market
  • Advanced senior stakeholder management capability, both internally and with third-party strategic partners 
  • High level of Brand P&L value management experience
  • Proven reputation for managing 3rd party creative and activation agencies
  • Direct team line management experience with proven ability to inspire, grow and develop people
