Arden University started life as a family-owned business called RDI in 1990, giving learners worldwide an opportunity to further their education through flexible distance learning.
As an increasing number of students trusted them with their education and future Arden were awarded Taught Degree-Awarding Powers in 2014. This meant that alongside providing higher education qualifications through other University Partners they could also award their own degrees (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and MBA's). In August 2015 RDI officially became Arden University - the only specialist distance (online) learning university to launch in the UK in the last 50 years.
Arden offer a wide range of Higher Education courses endorsed by professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Management Institute and the Association of Project Managers, as well as a Qualifying Law Degree - one of only five institutions in the UK to provide this course via online distance learning! Detailed Job Description
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the role will involve marketing the Arden brand and driving student enrolment trough businesses for existing courses offered by Arden, as well as developing new unique propositions that are fit for purpose. Core market focus initially will be around Data, IT and Financial Services industries although the role is not restricted to these verticals. You will be tasked with engaging with key decision makers within businesses (both blue chip and SME) to build the brand and proposition as well as to drive the graduate apprenticeship business. You will be required to drive and develop thought leadership and round table discussions with decision makers to drive engagement and ensure that the courses being offered are fit for purpose, with the ultimate objective to be driving enrolment/apprenticeship numbers through business partnerships. The role may involve public speaking and PR on occasions as well as event management.
The ideal candidate will be strong commercially and senior enough to segment the market and build business partnerships from scratch. You will need to be able to integrate and work with the senior leadership team at Arden and be comfortable developing and executing on short, medium and long term objectives. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record gained in one of the following sectors -
- Private Education
- Training Providers
- Business Services / Technology sectors
The ability to analyse and use business data to drive strategic and operational objectives is crucial as is the ability to plan, organise and effectively deliver on business objectives. Living and breathing Arden's brand values and having the right cultural fit are crucial for this role.
