Symphony Hall is widely considered one of the finest Concert Halls in the world, Symphony Hall sits in the bustling heart of Birmingham City centre and as well as being home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. It also hosts the best in jazz, world music, folk, rock, pop and stand-up comedy. The Hall also plays an important role in the life of the region and is regularly used for community events, graduation ceremonies and conferences. For more than 180 years, Town Hall has been a hub of civic and cultural life in Birmingham. From classical to comedy to rock to pop, it's now one of the city's most versatile venues.

THSH are now seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing with experience within The Arts to join their fast paced organisation.

Detailed Job Description

The Director  of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for planning and implementing the annual marketing strategy in line with the overall company strategy reporting directly into the board. They will have excellent leadership skills and will manage a cross functional team.

They will have demonstrable industry knowledge and passion for the Arts, with experience of leading innovative multi-channel Marketing campaigns within the sector.

They will use key data and insight in order to make commercial decisions around marketing campaigns to ensure they are targeted and engaging to specific customer demographics. The successful candidate will have understanding of CRM systems and how to utilise them effectively in order to build brand loyalty and work alongside campaigns to attract new customers. They will be able to manage multiple projects within in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that they are delivered on time to a high standard.

They will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, communicating effectively across the business.

Candidate's Profile

The successful Director of Sales & Marketing will have:

  • Demonstrable Marketing Experience within The Arts 
  • Demonstrable ability to create and implement strategic marketing plans
  • The ability to communicate effectively with Internal & External stakeholders 
  • Great leadership skills
  • A Commercial focus 
  • An Innovative Mind-set
  • The ability to deliver multiple projects on time to a high standard 
  • Drive & Great Leadership skills
  • Experience of online ticketing systems
