As the External Communications Manager you will devise, drive and manage PR, corporate communications and social media activities. To define and implement plans that support delivery of the company's revenue & growth targets, in addition to customer satisfaction.

My client is an innovative, consumer focused transport company, headquartered in London.


The External Communications Manager core responsibilities will include:


* To drive and manage corporate PR for the business, developing engagement and awareness amongst customers and potential customers for corporate news via the media, proactively pushing news stories
* To manage reactive PR, ensuring responses deliver the best results and maintain corporate reputation.
* Conduct evaluation of PR activities, scoring PR articles as they come in and delivering reports on reach, frequency, sentiment etc.
* Manage the press line and email in box, ensuring all press enquiries are dealt with efficiently and professionally.

Corporate Communications:


To manage awards applications on behalf of the organisation identifying functional and industry awards, working with internal teams to identify possible projects at conception to ensure the best documentation is gathered. Write the awards entries where required

To maximise media voice for the organisation, harnessing opportunities and maximising the impact of campaigns through the dissemination of compelling editorial articles.


Manage the company's crisis management plan, ensuring it is kept up to date

Social Media:

* Lead the planning and implementation of the company's social media strategy across all channels. Set the social media standards and tone for the organisation.
* Deliver communications campaigns to deliver messaging to customers and others that can be targeted through those channels.
* Manage and implement content on social media channels to engage customers and potential customers with the company's messages.
* Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programmes and analyse, review and report on campaigns to maximise results.


The successful External Communications Manager for the London based Transport Company will bring the following skills & attributes:

* Demonstrable media relations experience either in-house or in an agency setting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* You must be an excellent writer across a range of content for both on an offline
* Ability to build long lasting relationships
* Able to evidence being a team player
* Happy to work in Central London daily
