A unique opportunity for a strong Category Executive or confident Category Manager to join an AMAZING team who encourage a collaborative, open, creative and fun culture across the business. It is an initial 6month role working on an interesting mix of category work including data/insight collation in action across several bespoke seasonal projects with some superb exposure to core retailers.

Key responsibilities:

* CATEGORY FUNDAMENTALS: Support the wider Category Development Team through provision of merchandising plans across all our retail customers to include ownership and management of product databases and associated agency relationships. Effectively interpret industry, category, customer and shopper data to produce actionable insights that are communicated regularly to focus customers and the wider business.
* INSIGHTS, ANALYSIS AND REPORTING: Support the Channel Category Controller and Category Team through the provision of accurate and actionable data analysis and ad hoc reporting as required to deliver the category vision and fundamentals across the channel. Objectively track and evaluate Category and Brand performance in the focus customers, identifying risks or opportunities to the Brand portfolio and proactively communicating suggested course correction
* CATEGORY VISION: Present the findings and insight to the wider category team and business as well as to premium retailers in a simple and compelling way that inspires the focus customers to believe in the growth potential of the current and new / seasonal categories and projects so as to maintain their market-leading position.
* PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT: Ensure that workload is prioritised and focused against the biggest opportunities for the business aligned to the Category Vision and channel strategy.
* CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS: Broaden our sphere of influence and build close working relationships with key internal and external customers through developing a detailed understanding of key contacts, their strategy, goals and calendar and using this


Preferred Skill-set:

* Understanding of the UK Retail trade (required)
* Data collation and interpretation/analysis skills(required). A real self-starter or aptitude for using IRI, Nielson, DH and Kantar
* Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint user (required)
* Understanding of basic Category Management principles, customer-facing experience within a category management function (preferred)
* A collaborative team spirit who is confident working cross-functionally across the business
* Open and proactive nature
* Available to start immediately (preferred)
