The full advert can be seen at: http://careerssearch.bbc.co.uk/jobs/job/Publications-Designer-BBC-Proms/19823

The Proms (started in 1895) is one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. The concerts take place each summer from mid-July to mid-September at the Royal Albert Hall, with associated events (talks, showcases, composer portraits, films, etc) and chamber music concerts held in other venues locally. The Proms lie at the heart of the BBC's commitment to live music and cultural programming and the BBC's promotion of the festival reaffirms its place as the country's leading cultural patron. The combination of music-making of the highest quality available to all at accessible prices, with the special feature of 'promming' by standing audiences each night in the arena and gallery of the hall, makes the series unique and distinctive.

The BBC Proms are unique in that every concert is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, and many are televised on BBC TV (BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4) as well as heard around the world via the European Broadcasting Union reaching audiences of millions. The commitment to the highest quality in the content and to complete professionalism in the operation is paramount.

Role Responsibility
You will play a key role in the design and production of the BBC Proms and BBC Orchestras and Choirs concert programmes. You will also find creative design solutions for material as may be required by the BBC Proms and the BBC Orchestras and Choirs and other internal clients (e.g. marketing and press materials) and translate and develop existing designs across different types of media, also managing design, layout, sign-off and file delivery.

The Ideal Candidate
You will need to have an excellent knowledge of Mac systems, along with substantial experience of working on layout for publication and marketing materials, both print and digital. High proficiency InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator with a familiarity in paragraph and character styling is essential. You will have proven graphic design skills and have worked on a range of products targeted at different audiences.

In addition to the above, you will have the confidence and ability to deliver a variety of projects and prioritise a heavy workload while working to tight deadlines, with great attention to detail.
